ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Environmental Educator. Freshwater Ecologist. Regenerative Agriculture Practitioner. Mentor.
With over 8 years of experience in the environmental sector, Daniel Wood founded Slipstream Ecology to help people and organisations develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to create positive environmental change.
MY STORY
From Ecology to Environmental Education
Daniel has over 8 years of experience working in the environmental sector as a professional Freshwater Ecologist.
Throughout his career, he has delivered large-scale routine ecological monitoring programmes and habitat restoration projects, developing specialist knowledge of freshwater ecosystems, biodiversity, field surveying and environmental management.
Alongside his ecological career, Daniel has developed a strong connection with regenerative agriculture. As a first-generation farmer, he established his own regenerative agricultural enterprise from his farm in Wales, producing beyond-organic produce and exploring practical approaches to working with nature.
Coming into farming without a family background in the sector also gave Daniel a first-hand understanding of the challenges faced by people trying to enter environmental and agricultural careers.
This experience shaped his passion for creating better pathways into the sector and making environmental knowledge more accessible to others.
WHY SLIPSTREAM ECOLOGY?
Empowering People Through Environmental Education
Daniel founded Slipstream Ecology with a simple aim: to empower people and organisations through environmental education.
Environmental knowledge should not be limited to textbooks or classrooms. It should be accessible, practical and connected to the real world.
Through Slipstream Ecology, Daniel brings together his experience in ecology, agriculture, education, mentoring and leadership to provide practical support for individuals, educational institutions and environmental projects.
From tutoring and species identification training to professional mentoring and environmental consultancy, the aim is to help people understand the environment and feel confident taking action.
